How to Check your eligibility for Funded Childcare

Parents can check their eligibility for 30 hours through the childcare calculator  (https://www.gov.uk/childcare-calculator) and apply for 30 hours and Tax-Free Childcare through the childcare service (https://www.gov.uk/sign-in-childcare-account).

If eligible, you will receive an 11-digit eligibility code. Before you can book a place, you must bring your code, national insurance number and child’s birth certificate so we can check it is valid.

Every three months parents will need to confirm that the details they entered on their application are up to date. The government will send email reminders and text messages to do this, but it is good practice for you to remind parents as well.

Using Your Funded Hours at Quackers

We offer 3 different ways to pay for your Sessions at Quackers:

  1. Fully Funded – This is where the session comes with no costs to the parent, as shown at the top of this letter.

  2. Fully Paid – This is where the full session charge is paid by the Parents. This session applies when a Parent does not have any funding to use and for sessions outside of Term Time.

  3. Part Funded, Part Paid – Where Parents can use their Funded hours to reduce their childcare bill. Parents may also be charged for the additional hours not funded at the sessions hourly rate and an amount to cover other costs known as Additional Extras. These include, but are not limited to, Nappies, Sun Cream, all Meals and Snacks, Gardening Lessons, Birthday Cake/Party, Little Achievers Certificates, Music and Movement Sessions, Leavers Graduation Party and much more. This is because Government funding is intended to deliver 15 or 30 hours a week of high quality, flexible childcare. It does not cover the costs of meals, other consumables, additional hours, or additional activities and therefore Parents will still have an amount to pay for these additional services. On your invoice these will be shown as “additional extras”.

How will the Funded hours reduce my bill?

Example: 1 Full Time

A 4 Year Old child is booked for a Full Day (8am-6pm). This session is 10 hours long and cost £66.00 per day (£6.60 per hour). If a parent only has 6 hours funding available for that day, the cost to the parent will be the unfunded 4 hours plus the Additional Extras.

In this case the amount payable is 4 x £6.60 = £26.40 plus the Additional Extras of £6.00.

Total £32.40
