Job Description: Level 3 Nursery Nurse/Practitioner

Pay: £13.00 per hour

 

Locations: Quackers Chieveley, RG20 8TE  OR  Quackers Banbury, OX16 5AY

Working Hours: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Monday to Friday, 4 DAYS PER WEEK, as per staff rota. Hours negotiable.

Reports to: Nursery Manager

Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent

JOB OVERVIEW

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality care and learning opportunities for children, adhering to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

  • Plan, prepare, and implement age-appropriate activities and experiences that promote children's development.

  • Support children’s individual needs, ensuring inclusion and diversity in the setting.

  • Observe, assess, and record children’s progress and achievements.

  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and other professionals to support children’s development.

 

Safeguarding and Welfare

  • Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of all children at all times.

  • Follow safeguarding policies and procedures, reporting any concerns to the designated safeguarding lead.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating environment, conducting daily risk assessments and adhering to health and safety protocols.

 

Professional Development

  • Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required.

  • Keep up to date with current childcare practices, policies, and legislation.

  • Reflect on and improve own practice, seeking opportunities for continuous professional development.

 

Team Collaboration

  • Work effectively as part of the nursery team to ensure a smooth and professional operation.

  • Share responsibility for opening, closing, and maintaining the nursery environment.

  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.

 

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years Education, or equivalent.

  • Paediatric First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).

 

Experience 

  • Previous experience working in a nursery or childcare setting, specifically with babies.

  • Experience leading a team or room within a nursery setting is highly desirable.

 

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of the EYFS framework and its application to babies' early development.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and support a small team.

  • Excellent communication skills, both with children and adults.

  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to childcare.

  • A passion for working with babies and supporting their early development.

  • The ability to remain calm and caring in a fast-paced environment.

  • A proactive and flexible attitude, with the ability to adapt to the needs of the nursery.

Apprentice

- £ pay negotiable.

We are looking for an Apprentice to come and join our Team. We will pay you whilst you learn and gain experience, then offer you a Full Time job once you Qualify. You will spend 4 days a week in our Nursery and Pre-School (and sometimes After School Club) and 1 day a week at College.

 

Bank Staff

Are you flexible, can work at short notice and looking to earn a little extra money? We have vacancies for Bank Staff to cover sickness and holidays. We can often give up to 2 weeks notice of the required shifts, though we would appreciate a person who can work at short notice.

BANBURY LOCATION:   WE ARE LOCATED WITHIN THE TOWN CENTRE NEAR THE BUS AND TRAIN STATION.
